The social network Odnoklassniki, where users traditionally congratulate each other on February 23, together with the ResearchMe research center conducted an online survey about this holiday. The study showed how Runet users relate to Defender of the Fatherland Day, whether they consider it necessary to share household responsibilities between men and women, and whether February 23 can do without traditional socks as a gift. A total of 1,073 respondents from different cities of Russia took part in the survey.

54% of respondents said that they celebrate February 23rd, for 18% of respondents the holiday has lost its meaning, and 16% said that they do not celebrate it at all. 70% of users (79% of women and 60% of men) are sure that all men should be congratulated on this holiday, since each of them is a defender. 26% of the respondents (34% of men and 18% of women) disagree with them, who congratulate only those who are related to military service.

61% of women will give gifts for February 23 to their relatives, 53% - to a loved one, friends and colleagues, 20% and 17%, respectively. Only 12% of women do not plan to give gifts to anyone.

OK also asked users about the "expectations and reality" of gifts for the holiday. Thus, 26% of men would like to receive money as a gift - this is the most popular answer. 17% of the respondents would be happy with a festive lunch or dinner, 15% dream of tools, 12% want a smartphone or tablet, and 11% would not give up fishing goods. Only 5% of respondents dream of underwear, personal care products and socks. Although 33% of women plan to give their "defenders" cosmetics, and 15% - socks or underwear.

Nevertheless, most often women named a festive lunch or dinner as a gift on February 23 (38%), 12% of women will give clothes or shoes, and 13% - money. The most unpopular gift on February 23rd was travel (1%). 40% of men said that they would like to spend Defender of the Fatherland Day as a real holiday and receive more care from women, and 28% believe that on this day a man should take care of his loved ones.

Classmates also learned from users about the role of a modern man in society and family for them. The study showed that the majority of the respondents of both sexes (58%) are sure that a man and a woman should equally share household chores. 31% believe that homework should be done by the one who is at home more and has more free time.

In addition, users were asked what a man should help a woman with. The most popular answers from both men and women were: shopping for groceries, taking out the trash, raising children, cooking and cleaning the apartment. Nevertheless, when asked "What do you like doing around the house the most," most men answered that they like to go grocery shopping (46%), followed by cooking (38%), and the third place for raising children (27%), the fourth position is to take out the trash (25%), the fifth position is to take care of animals (22%). The survey has shown that the least men like to iron clothes (4%) and wash clothes (5%).

Odnoklassniki has a traditionally active audience on holidays. OK users love to congratulate each other and exchange emotion. Defender of the Fatherland Day is one of the favorite holidays on the social network. On February 23, OK users will be able to take part in the #myfielder marathon.
