Musician Valery Syutkin, the only member of the jury who did not independently turn to the daughter of Channel One host Alexandra Budnikova during a blind audition on the vocal show "The Voice", speculated about the scandal due to her participation in the project. He gave his assessment of the situation in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
“For me, this situation looks absolutely idiotic,” said the performer. The mentor of the project emphasized that no one "even stuttered about what should be skipped to the next stage of some participant."
According to Syutkin, he makes all decisions and actions on Golos independently and only as he personally thinks is necessary. “Talking about money, family ties is all just ridiculous,” the artist assured.
The singer added that when auditioning, he tries to immediately understand how to develop the talent of the performer, and explained that each member of the jury has different approaches. “I try to make exquisite arrangements so that the work would sound completely differently,” Syutkin clarified.
He summed up that such scandals are inevitable. “The channel makes a show, and the producers are not particularly worried about who will win there - the main thing is to make it interesting to watch,” the mentor concluded.
The girl was at the center of the scandal at the end of October, when a program with her participation was broadcast. Budnikova performed the composition "Drunken Sun" in her own arrangement. Three mentors turned to her independently - Basta, Polina Gagarina and Sergey Shnurov. Viewers began to write on social networks that Budnikova was being sued because of her father's influence on the channel. The vocalist herself denied this in a conversation with Lenta.ru.
Channel One intends to sue the chairman of the Communists of Russia party Maksim Suraykin, journalist Sergei Sosedov and actor Stanislav Sadalsky, who stated that the Golos is all about criminality. Sadalsky also called Budnikova "another daughter of Alsou", recalling the scandal in the finale of the sixth season of the project "Voice. Children”, when the vote cheat in favor of the participant was confirmed.
