The marriage registration stamp has important functions. With its help, you can confirm your marital status. Also, when registering a child, a mark in the passport confirms paternity. It is also necessary when providing documents for a loan or mortgage. In addition, it is necessary when entering into an inheritance after the death of one of the spouses, when drawing up financial contracts.

The acting head of the Civil Registry Office Svetlana Ukhaneva said that if there is no free space for the marriage stamp in the document, the passport must be replaced.

- In the capital's registry offices, there were no such cases of refusal to conclude a marriage due to lack of free space in the passport on the pages "Marital Status". As a rule, such a problem may arise for one of the future spouses, who registers his relationship with the registry office for the third time. The stamp in the passport takes up half a page, so after two stamps on marriage and two on divorce, there is no free space, '' she clarified.

In the event that the passport is not changed by the date of the celebration, the citizen can fill out an application stating that he was notified that the stamp will be put on page 16 “Children”.

When submitting an application through the website of state services, registry office employees also inform couples by phone about the need for free space in their passports and warn about the consequences.

Apostille is a stamp that meets the requirements of the Hague Convention. It is affixed to documents to be exported outside the Russian Federation, issued by the registry office. The presence of such a stamp on an official document does not require further certification or legalization of the document.

Earlier it was reported that more than 700 couples in Moscow have chosen Monday for their wedding since the beginning of the year. It is noted that often Sunday and Monday are days off in the city registry offices. However, in the capital these days there are two Wedding Palaces - 1 and 3. It is specified that more than 1200 couples got married on Sunday.
