Such a gift to the lovers was made by the company Aviasales together with the airline S7. The lucky ones were the winners of the competition, which was held specially for Valentine's Day. The RIAMO correspondent learned how to call an air taxi, arrange a date or even a wedding in the sky. Call a plane like a taxi The "Flight for Love" competition was announced in the social networks of Aviasales a few days before February 14. A ticket for a special flight to Kaluga and back could only be won. Those wishing to fly on a date had to go to the Aviasales website or application, set the direction "Moscow - Kaluga" for February 14, book two seats, leaving passport details, and wait for the results. The winners - 27 pairs - were selected at random using a randomizer. The idea to send the lovers to the sky came from the company's PR-director, Janis Janis. “We had the idea that February 14 was ahead and we needed to do something, because we love flights and love each other very much - we need to share this,” he said. The winners of the competition set off on a journey on a new board of S7 as part of the Select program - this is the first passenger aircraft booking service in Russia. Now anyone can book a plane by leaving a request on the S7 website. “If you have an extra one and a half million rubles or 95 friends who are ready to chip in and fly with you wherever you go, you can use this service. Now it is available to individuals,”explains Maria Kochetkova, S7 advertising projects manager. Find a couple in 10 minutes: how I went to an evening of quick dates >> Third - unnecessary In total, about 7.5 thousand applications were submitted for the competition. “Not everyone would like to spend Sunday flying to Kaluga - not the most obvious direction. Probably, you need to love your partner and travel very much in order to decide on this. And 7 thousand couples for whom it suits is really a lot,”Janis thinks. Despite the fact that the flight of the lovers was slightly delayed due to bad weather, the atmosphere of the holiday among the winners of the competition was preserved. Rarely do you see so many happy faces waiting in line to board. The plane was almost completely full, but one of the three seats remained empty. The rule of "third - extra" was strictly observed. “This is exactly a date - two people are sitting on three chairs. This is their personal moment”, - noted the PR-director of Aviasales. The romantic atmosphere on board was created by the flight attendants who read love aphorisms over the speakerphone and delivered champagne and cakes to the passengers. “I found my happiness in a colony”: Muscovites about strange love stories >> Flight - like a fast bus The flight to Kaluga took only 25 minutes. A real discovery for many was the fact that small Kaluga has its own small, but international airport. For many Muscovites, the presence of an airport in Kaluga is a surprise. The winners of the competition received not only the shortest flight in life, but also a buffet table at the airport, with gifts and a concert. Meeting at the airport - this event will also be remembered for a long time. For Yegor and Katya, this is the first February 14 together, although the guys have known each other from school. The lovers had no plans for the holiday, but the victory in the competition made their day. Egor applied for the competition, although he did not expect a win. “I often take part in competitions, but I never win anywhere. And then they called me on February 12, they said that we were among the couples who won the prize. It's cool and unexpected!”- he said. His girlfriend Katya also did not believe that such a competition could be won. “This is a gamble! Flying is like a fast bus. The reality surpassed all expectations. This is probably the best February 14 in our entire life,”she shared.Anna and Gregory, too, at first did not believe that they had won a real free flight. “We thought - we'll just participate and that's it. But they called us - I heard an enthusiastic squeal from the room and then I learned that we were flying to Kaluga,”said Grigory. “In lotteries, you buy a ticket, but here - come what may. When they called me, I said that I did not believe,”says Anya. According to the couple, Valentine's Day on a plane is a great idea, especially now, when many destinations are closed due to the pandemic. “This is an interesting experience, because now you can't fly anywhere. It is an outlet for those who love travel,”they say. Bonnie and Clyde or Kerry and Mr. Big: what kind of couple are you? >> Wedding on board On the way back to Moscow, the lovers witnessed the first wedding in Russia on the plane. At first, some passengers even doubted the reality of this wedding, believing that this was a production from the organizers. Timofey and Aida have known each other for a long time, but they did not consider themselves as a couple. The friendship led to a romantic relationship, and four years later they decided to get married. “This wedding is absolutely real, it was just that we had it according to plan later. And when the organizers found out that we would have a wedding, they offered us to make a ceremony in the sky. We are against trivial decisions, because we don’t want to hear about the boat of love,”the newlyweds explained. However, the guys themselves at first did not believe in the reality of what was happening. “When they called us and said that we had won the flight, we thought they were scammers. This is fate - one hundred percent!”, - says Aida. It didn't take long to get ready for the wedding in the sky. For a week, the bride and groom managed to think over the concept, choose a dress and shoes. The organizers allowed to take friends with them. The role of the registry office workers was taken over by the flight attendants of the flight - under a solemn speech, the couple exchanged rings over a loudspeaker. “We agreed with the stewardesses, they also represent the power in heaven, so they held the ceremony,” Janis said. “There are a lot of emotions. We ourselves have not yet fully understood what it was. This can be compared to the fact that you suddenly tried something that you have never tried. It's super cool to say "I love you!" on the plane, - the newlyweds shared.
