Briton Laleh Shahravesh was arrested at Dubai airport over angry Facebook comments she posted three years ago. The woman left them under the photographs of the new wife of her ex-husband, writes "BBC".

55-year-old Shahravesh together with her daughter arrived in the United Arab Emirates for the funeral of her ex-husband. As soon as they got off the ramp, the woman was detained on charges of insulting her honor and dignity. The daughter had to return to London alone.
The lawsuit against the British woman was filed by her ex-husband's new wife. The woman was angered by the comment Shahravesh left under her photo. “I hope you sink into the ground, you idiot. Damn you. You left me for this horse,”she wrote on Facebook.
Shahravesh posted the comment back in 2016 when she learned that her ex-husband had remarried. Their marriage lasted 18 years, of which only eight months she lived with her husband in the Emirates, where he worked. When the man's business trip ended, the wife returned to London with her daughter. The husband did not follow the family, and the couple decided to divorce.
Now Shahravesh can face up to two years in prison or a fine of £ 50,000 (about four million rubles). She was released from prison on bail and is currently awaiting trial at a local hotel.
According to the British woman, she is terrified, unable to eat or sleep. From stress, she lost two sizes, and her daughter Shahravesh "falls asleep in tears every night."
