On International Women's Day, women should not give sweets, stuffed animals, kitchen utensils, personal care products, or makeup kits. This was reported to the Moscow City News Agency by Associate Professor of the Department of Developmental Psychology named after Professor Obukhova of the Faculty of Educational Psychology of the Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University (MSUPE), Candidate of Psychology Yulia Kochetova.

“Buying sweet gifts should be avoided. First, it is extremely commonplace and trivial. Secondly, many modern girls follow the figure, lead a healthy lifestyle. If a girl does not eat sweets, keep this in mind, you should not buy a box of sweets, even if it is expensive and delicious chocolate. I would also not recommend giving a variety of soft toys and all sorts of trinkets - souvenirs, unnecessary vases, tea sets, figurines. Such a gift will simply never be useful to its owner and will most likely gather dust in a distant corner of the closet, since it is absolutely useless,”said Kochetova.

The psychologist added that personal hygiene products should also not be given, since modern girls are tempted with such products and can easily buy them in any supermarket.

“Not the best gift - traditional personal hygiene products. And it doesn't matter what kind of brand it is and no matter how expensive it is - these are deodorants, shower gels, various sets of cosmetics, bath foam, gel and body milk. Modern girls and women are so tempted with such goods, which are even in any supermarket, that they may simply not take it as a gift. Plus, do not forget that all ladies have their own preferences - from the perceived aroma of products, composition and brand, and ending with the type of skin. It is better not to take risks here,”explained Kochetova.

Kitchen utensils can also be controversial, she said.

“Unwanted gifts include a variety of kitchen utensils and utensils. This also includes multicooker, vacuum cleaners, irons, juicers, blenders, waffle makers. Many women take such a gift as a hint of improving the skills of the hostess. Even if you are sure that it is time for a woman to learn how to cook, there is no need to give her such gifts if she herself does not show interest in this occupation,”concluded Yulia Kochetova.
