MOSCOW, August 15 - RIA Novosti. If a man leaves his wife, then the community perceives this as a betrayal, in order to exclude this, you can take a second wife, but for this you need to consult with the imam, Mufti Albir Krganov, chairman of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia (DSMR), told RIA Novosti.

So he commented on the results of the seminar "Family relations in modern Muslim societies: problems, causes and solutions", which took place with the participation of the JSMR.
"Family relations, the rights and obligations of a man and a woman are a whole layer of Islamic law, our tradition, which must be known. From a spiritual and moral point of view, if a man leaves his wife who has gone through all the hardships of life with him, gave birth to children, in society it is is perceived as a betrayal, "said Krganov.
He drew attention to the fact that the Prophet Muhammad lived with his first wife, who bore him children and was next to him at the difficult time of the beginning of the prophetic mission, "and only after her death did he marry again."
At the same time, Islamic law allows a man to have several wives at the same time, the mufti noted, and sexual intercourse with his wives is not treason or betrayal.
"Betrayal or adultery is a sexual act not with your wife. Sleeping with a second, third wife is not a betrayal of the first wife. Adultery is prohibited in Islam, it is a sin before God and it is bad for family relationships. There is also the concept of adultery with the eyes of a man. he must control his feelings, this is work on oneself, which is also obligatory for a man, "the mufti emphasized.
To take the second and subsequent wives, according to Krganov, many requirements must be met.
"The status of the wife is official. A man takes responsibility for the maintenance of his wife, the upbringing and support of children. Also, according to Sharia, a man must treat all his wives the same - devote the same amount of time and help financially," the mufti explained.
He clarified that in the Arab world they are calm about polygamy, and women receive appropriate education. “We have other realities that need to be taken into account. Therefore, we need to think and consult with the imams,” the mufti summed up.
