The Investigative Committee of Russia sent to the Ministry of Health a proposal to transfer to law enforcement agencies information about minors (under 16 years old), who, according to doctors, are sexually active, RIA Novosti reports.

The head of the Department of Procedural Control over the Investigation of Certain Types of Crimes of the Investigative Committee Yevgenia Minaeva explained that such a decision is related to the liability established by Article 134 of the Criminal Code for sexual intercourse, sodomy or lesbianism committed by a person who has reached the age of 18, with a person who has not reached the age of 16 …

"In order to increase the efficiency of work to identify these crimes, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is taking a set of measures, including sending proposals to the Ministry of Health of Russia to ensure that employees of medical institutions of the internal affairs bodies are informed about the signs of sexual intercourse and other sexual acts identified in the course of their professional activities. with persons under the age of 16, "Minaeva said.

According to Minaeva, mostly cases of sexual contacts with minors under the age of 16 are not detected, since not everyone knows about the existence of such a criminal prohibition, and also because of the "natural shyness of girls."

She clarified that representatives of the UK and the Ministry of Health during the meetings decided to create an interdepartmental working group to amend the current legislation.

Minaeva explained that the transfer of this information to law enforcement agencies protects the rights of a minor and does not divulge medical secrets.
