Svetlana Bessarabsky, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, proposed amendments to the law "On Employment in the Russian Federation", which gives women who have gone on maternity leave the right to take free advanced training courses or full-fledged training.
The politician believes that men should be given the same rights - then, perhaps, not only women, but also men will go on maternity leave, which is a rarity today. According to the Scientific and Educational Center for Social Development of the RANEPA, the number of fathers in the decree does not exceed 2%, Izvestia writes.
“Yes, now there are very modern women who provide for their families. But in the overwhelming majority of cases, a man still earns more. But in fact, it does not matter at all whether there are a lot of such men or few. They still need to be supported and made it easier for them to return to the labor market. Caring for a child is monotonous monotonous duties, professional skills are lost very quickly in such conditions,”says Lyubov Khrapylina, director of the Scientific and Educational Center for Social Development of the RANEPA, labor market expert.
Earlier, the State Duma proposed to provide men with 10 days of paid maternity leave after the birth of children.
