In the Chelyabinsk region, a woman for agreeing to marry a native of Tajikistan received a reward of 10 thousand rubles. The prosecutor's office went to court to declare the marriage invalid, said Natalya Mamaeva, senior assistant to the regional prosecutor. The prosecutor's office checked the legal status of foreigners and found that the registry office of the Kyshtym administration in 2015 entered into a marriage between a resident of Karabash and a citizen of Tajikistan. In 2016, the man received a temporary residence permit, two years later, a residence permit, and in 2019 received a passport of the Russian Federation. "In accordance with article 27 of the Family Code of the Russian Federation, a marriage is invalidated in the event of a fictitious marriage, that is, if the spouses or one of them registered the marriage without the intention to start a family," Mamaeva explained. The woman confessed to the employees of the department that after marriage she received 10 thousand rubles. She had no intention of living with a foreigner. She understood that marriage was fictitious and a man needed to obtain citizenship. "In this regard, the city prosecutor appealed to the Karabash city court with a statement of claim declaring the above marriage invalid," Mamaeva added.
