“EVRAZ will continue to comply with the terms of the previously signed agreement. Community residents can be on the mountain from 12:00 Friday to Sunday. The admission of tourists will be carried out according to the applications sent in advance from the community, Evraz representatives note. At the time of publication of the text, FederalPress was unable to contact the representatives of Sherdub Ling. The conflict, which lasted for several years between the religious community and the mining and metallurgical company, is finally over. The Buddhist monastery, founded in 1995 in the vicinity of the city of Kachkanar, was supposed to be demolished in 2014 by a court decision, since the territory is owned by Evraz, which plans to carry out blasting operations on it. However, this verdict provoked a protest from members of the community. After lengthy negotiations between the monastery, the company and the regional authorities, the Buddhists agreed to leave Mount Kachkanar in exchange for the allocation of a plot of land near Nizhnaya Tura and 26 million rubles in compensation. Recall that Buddhists accepted these conditions on February 2. They left the temple complex and ceased to be on duty around it. Photo: FederalPress / Evgeny Potorochin
