Sberbank analyzed investment strategies depending on gender and came to the conclusion that men are more likely to invest in riskier instruments and invest more in mutual investment funds (UIFs), and women are more active in opening individual investment accounts with trust.

But in general, women almost as often as men use passive investment instruments to create savings. Sberbank estimated the total assets of male investors at almost 130 billion rubles, and for women - 73 billion. But the advantage is obtained only due to the fact that the size of the average check for men is noticeably higher. And quantitatively, there are only 4% more of them among investors than women.

Evgeny Kogan, President of Moscow Partners, HSE Professor, discusses the gender factor in investment strategies.

Evgeny Kogan President of the Moscow Partners Company “For me, as for a person who has been working with clients in the field of investments for almost 30 years, this is nothing new. Indeed, men are on average more risky, this is logical. The task of a woman is to defend her nest, it was, is and will be, and women cannot do otherwise. Women are always more conservative, more careful, more suspicious. Men are always risk averse. In most cases, it is mostly men who always go on crazy adventures, adventures that develop the world. So this world is probably promoted by men, but women are stabilizing. This is normal.

Sberbank also noted that both men and women are mastering investment through closed-end mutual funds in commercial real estate. The number of male investors in such funds, according to the research, is exactly twice that of women, and the funds invested by men - almost 15 billion rubles - is almost three times more than the investments of the female audience.
