American psychologist David Ludden has published on the Psychology Today the results of a study examining the effect of watching porn on love relationships.

The study involved 200 heterosexual and homosexual couples. Each participant agreed to keep a special diary for 35 days. For scientific work, it was necessary to note every day whether they watched porn, how satisfied they were with their relationship with a partner, whether they would like to have sex and whether they had intercourse.

As a result, it turned out that watching adult videos has nothing to do with relationship satisfaction. "There was no evidence that porn makes people feel less happy around their partner, or that porn is used to compensate for the deficiencies in the relationship," Ladden explained.

In addition, the researchers found that women watched porn less often than men, and also had sex more often during the days when they were interested in adult videos. At the same time, heterosexual men are less likely to have sex after watching porn than homosexual men.

Ladden emphasized that an open and healthy attitude towards one's own sexuality makes porn a tool for improving relationships with a partner. At the same time, those who consider adult videos to be evil and feel guilty after watching them are likely to consider themselves betrayed if they catch their lover in such an activity.
