Volgograd resident Sergei Ovechkin went missing after being hospitalized at the Covid Center in Volzhsky. For many days, his relatives did not know anything about his condition. And on October 30, it turned out: the man died on the 19th, on the day of hospitalization. But his wife in the hospital was told to the last that her husband was being treated in the department of surgery.

When Vera Ovechkina sent her husband to the hospital, she had no idea how this would turn out. The man started bleeding, at first he was taken to surgery. But then, when the coronavirus was confirmed, they were admitted to the Fischer City Clinical Hospital 1.

Volgograd could not come there due to the restrictions associated with the pandemic. I gave things to my husband. And when she called, she was assured that the man was being treated.

At the same time, the woman could not find out anything about his condition, although she called everyone, including the head physician. Vera could not contact her husband either, although she gave him a mobile phone to the hospital.

The woman eventually went to the police, but law enforcement officers were unable to find out where her husband had disappeared. Then Vera came to the editorial office of the Volgograd Notebook.

The journalists conducted their own investigation and found out: the man died almost two weeks ago. This happened back on October 19, the day he was hospitalized.

In Fischer's hospital, without announcing the death of Sergei Ovechkin to his family, they took his body to the morgue on Opolchenskaya Street. Then they were transported to the morgue on Zemlyachka (bodies are taken there for examination of those infected with coronavirus).

The woman learned about the death of her husband only on October 30. After the journalists turned to the regional health department, the chief physician of the city clinical hospital 1 named after V. I. S. Z. Fisher Roman Morozov and reported the death of her husband. It turned out that the hospital had confused his documents. The head physician apologized for the confusion.

On the initiative of the head of the medical institution, an official check will be carried out in the institution, the perpetrators will be punished.
