Scientists have figured out the details of the sexual life of young British people over the past 30 years. The data was published in the Journal of Adolescent Health.
British researchers analyzed data from three large studies conducted since 1990, in which more than 45 thousand Britons took part. During this time, vaginal intercourse and oral sex remained the most common practices.
At the same time, the number of people aged 16-24 who have engaged in oral, anal and vaginal sex over the past year has grown from 1 in 10 men and women in 1990-1991 to every fourth man and every fifth woman in 2010-2012. The greatest increase in the incidence of oral and anal sex in the last decade was observed among young people aged 16-18.
At the same time, the average age at first intercourse has not changed much and is still about 16 years old. At the first sexual experiences in a broader sense, for example, kissing - 14 years.
