American Stephanie Lynn Smith fell ill with coronavirus, was hospitalized on her wedding day and died five days later, writes NBC News.
The 29-year-old bride and her 31-year-old fiancé Jamie Bassett were scheduled to get married in Lubbock, Texas on November 13. It was there that the young man proposed to the girl, but they could not become a family.
Stephanie fell ill on November 3, the American did not notice any symptoms of coronavirus. However, after four days, the bride stopped feeling the taste, but she attributed this symptom of COVID-19 to herpes, which she had already suffered from earlier.

As the mother of the deceased Oralja explained, her daughter was very worried about the upcoming event. “She went to the doctor who prescribed her treatment,” she added. However, the patient's condition only worsened, the American went to the hospital. Doctors diagnosed her with COVID-19 and pneumonia. The girl was sent home to be treated for quarantine: she was prescribed to take vitamins, rest and control the level of oxygen in the blood.
Stephanie Lynn Smith's condition seriously deteriorated on November 10. On that day she became weak, slept all day and ate almost nothing. By tomorrow, the level of oxygen in the blood dropped, the girl was taken away by an ambulance. The bride's condition became critical on November 17, she was transferred to intensive care, but could not be saved. The next day, early in the morning, the doctors informed the girl's relatives and fiancé that she had died.
