MOSCOW, 18 Feb - RIA Novosti. Compared to women, men travel less often and spend less money on air tickets, Biletix reports.
Internet service data show that most men travel at the age of 30-35. In 2019, this age group accounts for 15.8% of airline ticket sales.
But against the background of tourists, male travelers are becoming less and less active: over the past few years, the share of airline ticket purchases by women has been growing, albeit slowly but steadily, while tourist activity among men has been declining. In 2019, men accounted for 47% of air ticket sales, a year earlier - 48.1%, in the year before last - 48.5%.
Also, women spend more money on air tickets. In 2018, the average bill for a round trip within Russia was 8,210 rubles for men and 8,359 rubles for women (+ 1.8%). When buying air tickets abroad, these indicators are 18,459 rubles and 19,061 rubles (+ 3.2%), respectively.
