Scientists from St. Petersburg State University studied 8.6 million search queries from Yandex. They were interested in inquiries related to the topic of betrayal. The researchers found out how often people search the Internet for instructions on cheating on their partner, and who does this less often - men or women.
In the course of the analysis, the authors of the work, about which the newspaper Izvestia writes, received 221 unique formulations of requests with 3.5-4 million impressions per month. The researchers divided the requests into groups. The first was described as “Searching for help in case of infidelity”, the second - “How to cheat on a partner”, the third - “How to catch cheating”. As a result, four thematic clusters were made from the groups received: "Is it possible to forgive betrayal", "How to cope with betrayal", "How to understand what is being changed" and "How to change a partner".
The most popular category of requests was the last one - 87.61% of requests related to the topic "How to change a partner". Curiously, in 60% of cases, women were interested in this.
