The share of women in the total number of all residents of Russia playing in betting companies tripled in 2019 to 31.2%, follows from the annual study of the Rating of Bookmakers and the Responsible Gaming Association. A year earlier, the share of women was 9%.
However, the majority of the audience of bookmaker companies are still men (68.8%), 60% aged 25-44, with higher education (54%), with average and above average income according to subjective assessment (64%), married (51%), according to the results of the study at the end of 2019.
Paruyr Shahbazyan, the founder of the information-analytical portal Rating of Bookmakers, believes that the increase in the number of women gambling reflects the global tendencies towards equalization of men and women. Social boundaries between men and women are blurring. Women are beginning to take an interest in traditionally male entertainment, including betting, commented Paruyr Shahbazyan.
Earlier it was noted that on February 27, at the ceremony of presenting the International Prize in the field of sports and bookmaking, the RB Prize, the market leaders at the end of 2019 will be announced.
