The first issue of the 2012 draft Nail Yakupov, in an interview with SE, noted that he likes Russia. The Russian moved to SKA a year ago after 8 years in North America.
- But you didn't even think about staying in the NHL, did you? As far as I know, you made a decision back in April.
- I thought. When there are options, you always think. You can't choose by clicking. But in the end I chose SKA, because I thought it would be more correct for me. I liked everything here last year. In general, everything.
- I heard that you enjoyed life in Russia, from the Russian environment.
- It was great. First, this is your country. Which is closer to you in mentality. Close ones. Russian language. And you just live and enjoy. And when you are abroad, as for me, you are still a stranger. You live by their rules. You speak the language that you have learned. You are not yours. Even if you know English, and I speak English, but all the same - life was different there. And here I came and I didn't need any time to adapt, nothing. Once, I arrived - and you are at home. SKA did their best not to need anything. The team is excellent. They talked about the weather, but I liked the weather too. The winter was good. (Igor Eronko)
