Lilia Yakovleva and Yuri Mikhailov have been together for 23 years. To legalize the relationship - to register a marriage at the registry office and get married in a church - they decided just now. Over the past time, feelings have only grown stronger, and today they are ready to confess their love to each other.

Yuri recently turned 81 years old, his wife Lilia is 4 years younger. Met and fell in love in 1995. Everyone already has their own life experience behind them; Yuri was divorced by that time. For 25 years he worked in the North of the country - in Yakutia, and after retiring, he decided to return to Vologda. And Lilia Konstantinovna was widowed several years before the meeting. Having met, Yuri and Lilia realized that they loved each other, and since then they have not parted.

“I have always felt his humanity. Although outwardly to many, he seemed rude. He rarely talks about feelings even now. But this makes such confessions even more valuable. And for my part, I can say: what is between us is love,”Lilia Konstantinovna shares her memories.

The feeling has stood the test of years. Having lived together for 23 years, the couple decided to legalize their relationship. Last week, Yuri and Lilia registered a marriage, and the other day they got married in a church. Lilia Yakovleva has been a parishioner of the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos on Kozlen for many years, and also works in the Church of St. Lazarus. It was there that the wedding took place. The sacrament was performed by the rector of the church, Archpriest Alexei Sorokin.

“It was an amazingly bright performance. After him, a feeling of tenderness and joy remained for the whole day,”said the rector of the church, Archpriest Alexei Sorokin.

The decision to have an Orthodox wedding was mutual. When Lilia invited her husband to get married, he replied that this was the most important thing.
